The Jodi Lee
The Jodi Lee is a 28' Marinette, with twin
inboard engines and a kicker for those slower trolling spots.
She is maintained to the very highest of standards by Captain
Mitch Mattson, a lifelong fisherman of Lake Superior and
always in excellent condition. (Her brightwork and woodwork
shine, too!)
The Jodi Lee
The Jodi Lee, sporting four electric down
riggers, with more tackle than the local hardware, is fully
equipped with a GPS (Global Positioning System), Chart Plotter,
Radar, Sonar Detectors, and Loran systems, which also maintains
records of key locations for excellent fishing holes. We'll
provide everything you need for a fantastic fishing adventure,
but you also can bring your lucky fishing pole and tackle along, if you wish, as well
as plot our course for the day. (We've jotted down a few things
on the checklist of things to bring
on my fishing trip with Shelter Bay Charter's).
The Jodi Lee is certified
safe by the United States Coast Guard, meets all regulation
requirements, and is fully equipped with life vests, fire safety
equipment, and minor medical emergency kits for our guests.
Shelter Bay Charter's
fishing boat is outfitted with a head (restroom) and a cabin
that comfortably accommodates up to six people. If the weather
turns for the worst, the back deck of the boat can be easily
covered to protect you from the wind and rain.
We encourage you to bring warm clothes along as well. (See what to bring for
a fishing trip on Lake Superior).
When you know your vacation date, just give
us a call to make
your reservation. Summer dates are already going fast, so
we would suggest not waiting too long.
Lake trout is fished
all the time, but Salmon depends upon the time of year. (See best
times to fish).
We also provide chartering for other
types of fishing, such as Walleye,
and for tours to and around Grand
Island, to the Pictured
Rocks National Lakeshore (Miner's Castle), and many other
attractions and historical places.
Munising Fire Works
If you have never watched Munising's
fireworks from a boat, you haven't experienced their full
impact! You can literally hear the fireworks roll off of the
cliffs surrounding Munising bay like a 100 gun salute. Read
about Captain Mitch Mattson boat trips out into the bay to watch
the fireworks...
