Lake Superior Fishing Laws

Lake Trout
For the 2007 fishing season, the daily limit for Lake
Trout is 5 in any combination, but no more than 3 of any
one species. The season is open all year long.
Lake Superior
Lake Trout Fishing Charters include fishing at Stannard
Rock, Big Reef, Grand
Island, Grand Marais, Pictured Rocks, and local
fishing charters including Shelter
Bay Flats.
Salmon
For the 2007 fishing season, the daily limit for Salmon
is 5 in any combination, but no more than 3 of any one species,
except for Pink Salmon,
which limit is 5.
Fish must be at least 10 inches long.
Free Fishing Weekends In Michigan:
Each year, Michigan sets aside two weekends for free fishing.
During the Free Fishing in Michigan weekends, both residents
and nonresidents of Michigan can fish without needing to buy
a fishing license for fishing on Lake Superior or in any stream
including fly fishing. For the dates of the upcoming free fishing
