Best Times To Fish Lake Superior
When is the best time to go out?
The Lake Trout
Season is open all year in the Lake Superior waters off of Alger
County Michigan. Because Lake Trout typically feed in the early
morning hours, it is best to go out as early as possible - we
usually leave the dock with groups very early for the best fishing
of all species.
The Salmon Fishing
Season is also open all year, but Salmon are more prevalent
during the early spring and early summer. Most guests go out
with the intent to fish Lake Trout and enjoy catching a few
Salmon, too.
Steelhead
are caught most often in later spring and early summer.
So, when is the best time to go out?The best time is the time
that works best for you.
Lake Superior
doesn't guarantee a catch (but we do on full day trips). The
very best of fishing days can be followed by the worst ever.
And vise versa. For most guests, it isn't the final catches
that make their memories, it is the journey that does... but
we know, too, that the feverous near feeding frenzy of Stannard
Rock is an experience dreamed about by all fishermen. Regardless
of the destination, we'll give you our best efforts - guaranteed!
